Who writes the guides

Meet our editors

Three people write and edit everything on Premium Massage Chairs. We work from what the makers publish and what owners report: spec sheets, manuals, dimension drawings, warranty terms and long runs of buyer reviews, lined up chair by chair. The rankings change when prices or models do. None of us has sat in these chairs for the site, and every guide names the person who wrote it and the person who edited it.

Natalie Brandt

Senior editor

Natalie is the senior editor of Premium Massage Chairs. She decides which chairs make each ranking, reads roller-track and mechanism claims against the manual and the spec sheet, and goes through owner reviews for the complaints that repeat. Her pet subject is the 4D badge: two sellers can print the same letters on very different hardware, so she always reads past them.

  • Roller mechanisms: what 2D, 3D and 4D mean on a listing
  • S-, L- and SL-track length and body-height ranges
  • Budget bands and what each price step adds
  • Keeping the rankings current

Russell Kincaid

Room fit & delivery writer

Russell writes our guides on room fit, recline space and delivery. He reads the dimension drawings for the upright and fully reclined positions, compares wall-clearance figures across models, and goes through owner reviews for the doorways, stair turns and curbside drop-offs that caught people out. When a shipping box weighs hundreds of pounds, he wants you to have a plan before the truck arrives.

  • Footprint and full-recline clearance
  • Wall-hugger and space-saving designs
  • Zero-gravity positions as the maker describes them
  • Doorways, stairs and freight delivery
  • Box weight, assembly and setup

Vanessa Doyle

Warranty & care editor

Vanessa is our warranty and care editor. She reads warranty terms down to the exclusions, compares what each maker covers on the frame, the parts and in-home service, and keeps the upholstery-care guide close to what the manuals actually ask for. She also writes the comparison of massage guns and full chairs. When a warranty is vague, she tells you it's vague.

  • Warranty terms: frame, parts and in-home service
  • Synthetic leather and upholstery care
  • Manuals, safety warnings and exclusions
  • Massage guns and smaller massagers vs a full chair
